Crimson Stage, Nice Residence basketball start season with wins
The 2021-22 basketball season bought off to a roaring begin at each Crimson Stage and Nice Residence earlier this week.
The Tigers made the journey to Monroeville and squared off with Monroe County on Monday. The RLS B-team (1-1) misplaced the primary recreation earlier than Crimson Stage’s varsity ladies (2-0) cruised to a 61-31 win over MCHS. The varsity boys (2-0) adopted up evening one with a hard-fought time beyond regulation win, 54-49.
Crimson Stage commenced its residence schedule Tuesday with a pair of dominating wins over Houston County. The Tigers routed the Lions 57-18 in ladies’ motion and 85-33 within the boys’ recreation. The B-team (1-1) edged HCHS, 23-21.
“The players are playing with intensity, but the season is early. We have to cut down on our turnovers and rebound better. The teams need to stay focused and not become complacent because there are many more games to be played. I would like to credit B-team coach Frank Tolbert and Assistant Coach Oleshia Anderson for their hard work,” RLS Head Coach Bridges Anderson stated. “Tiger Nation, please come out and support these teams.”
The Eagles started their season with a three-game sweep of W.S. Neal at residence Tuesday. The PHS B-team (1-0) took down the Blue Eagles 50-37. The varsity ladies (1-0) shut down WSN with a robust defensive effort, 49-13 earlier than the varsity boys (1-0) capped the evening with a 68-55 win.
Each colleges are again in motion Friday, Nov. 19. Crimson Stage makes the journey to Kinston whereas Nice Residence visits Excel. Tip time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
